The 7th Annual Conference on Smart Economic Planning and Industrial Policy SEPIP 2023 will be organized from 12-13 October 2023 at our IBU campus.
SEPIP is organized by the Center for Industrial Policy and Development, Istanbul Commerce University. Its objective is to bring together researchers, practitioners, regulators, and policymakers from around the globe with a view to sharing results of academic studies, exchanging views, sharing experiences and discussing fresh ideas on industrial policy, economic planning, and related contemporary tools to support economic development and national competitiveness.
SEPIP aims at developing a platform that enables participants
- to discuss economic development at national and regional levels and the role of industrial policy and planning;
- to compare early theoretical and practical motivations for national development planning with those now emerging in the globalized world economy;
- to present real-world experiences in industrial policy and planning by international scholars with firsthand experience;
- to discuss new tools and approaches to development such as physical infrastructure planning, industrial policy, and cluster policy.
This year’s conference is organized in partnership with” OSTIM Technical University”- Ankara, Turkey and will take place at IBU Campus, featuring panels, keynote speakers and papers presentations.
The main theme of SEPIP 2023 is Servicification of Manufacturing and Industrialization of Services, while the sub-themes are:
- Is software an industrial or a service product;
- AI and circular economy;
- The use of artificial intelligence in manufacturing;
- New themes in industrial policy for a green development;
- Green industrial policies and the global transformation of climate politics;
- The economics of climate change;
- Geopolitical uncertainties and industry;
- Industrial policies and SME development.
